It has been described the purpose of transportation of aircraft at the aerodrome surfaces. The analysis of modern means of ground towing aircraft technology, the key weaknesses of their operation is carried out. It has been considered the role of the towing aircraft in the General system of preparatory funds aviation complex allowing for the use of aircraft tugs in different weather conditions. It has been done the analysis of technological processes of transportation aircraft. The result of transportation is justification of the priority of application of towbarless aircraft towing tractor and small towing devices. It is proposed the method of aircraft transportation using a compact device. The design of this device is offered. To determine the benefits towbarless aircraft towing tractor and small-size devices for aircraft towing to the regular wheeled tractors the comparative analysis of their towing properties is done.
