THE METHOD OF LINEAR CONTOUR FORMATION ON AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS OF RURAL AREA

The method of formation of contours in the form of a line on aerial photographs of rural area is described in the article. The modified Sobel operator is used for contour formation, and not only the speed of change of brightness in pixel, but also the direction are taken into account. Thus the method is less subject to the influence of interference. Taking into consideration that objects represented on aerial photographs of rural area have a regular shape and generally consist of lines, the contours received this way allow analyzing the image in more detail for the purpose of searching topographical objects on it. Such contours can be used as a distinctive feature in recognition systems. The result of the work of the software realizing the developed method is shown.
